Join Our Lab: Fully-Funded PhD Opportunity in Robotics (Fall 2026)
The Robotic Actuators and Dynamics Lab (RAD Lab) at Arizona State University’s School of Matter, Transport, and Energy (SEMTE) is looking for passionate and driven PhD students to join our team in Fall 2026.
As a PhD student in our lab, you’ll receive full funding—including tuition coverage, health insurance, and a stipend—while working on cutting-edge robotics research.
About the Project
You’ll explore machine learning and control for advanced robots, focusing on locomotion and mobile manipulation using our custom-built quadruped and humanoid robots.
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome applicants with a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields. Ideal candidates will have:

A strong background in control, machine learning, dynamics, autonomous systems, or embedded systems.

Experience with Linux, ROS, Docker, Python, C++, Isaac Lab, or MuJoCo (preferred but not required).

Prior research or publications (a plus).
